Ahoy Brigadiers, today as we are docked in the majestic ports of the Culinary Atolls, we are going to head to the galley and make Blueberry Overnight Oats in preparation to our voyage back to Mascot Island. Just as no athlete can achieve their promise if they fail to manage a proper diet, no Brigadier can properly man the sails of our Pirate Ship if they are not properly fueled and hydrated.
Unfortunately for many decades proper dietary habits have rarely been emphasized and this has equated to performance less than a Mascot Brigade Brigadier’s potential.
No aspiring Pirate of Play should find himself on the bench watching others have fun at the playground due to an aspect that is within their control. If one wishes to become a Brigadier in the Mascot Brigade, they must understand the importance of a proper diet and show dedication and commitment towards eating better.Simple measures in the Galley or Kitchen can have profound consequence on the field of play and life.
Food is fuel and as always we encourage all our friends to cultivate a garden and reap the bounties of it goodness in your daily diet. Recently I planted six blueberry plants of which I am going to include in our Blueberry Overnight Oats, Coastee Kitchen Style.
225 grams of organic Greek Yogurt
240 ml of Almond Milk (natural, not sweetened)
70 grams of organic Oats
150 grams of Blueberries
50 grams of Walnuts
Preparation: In a large mouth mason jar combine almond milk, porridge, blueberries, yogurt and stir. Tighten the lid and refrigerate overnight, or at least four hours. Serve in the morning, topped with walnuts. Go back to the Playground and Just Play! Hope you enjoyed my special recipe, see you on the playground - Mascot Coastee, Brigadier General of the Mascot Brigade
