Ahoy Mates! Brigadiers know in order to hit the playground hard and play at peak levels without becoming tired they need to fuel properly. We believe in healthy choices and developing a partnership with nature to fuel R-World Adventures. Featured today is Mascot Coastee’s favorite early summer smoothie, ‘The Blue Banana.’
Coastee loves this smoothie because he can put fresh picked blueberries direct from his clubhouse garden in with his favorite fruit of all time, bananas.
Mascot Coastee also knows in order to be able to play day after day he needs adequate amounts of protein to help his muscles recover and re-energize. Farm fresh eggs are his personal preference to prevent protein deficiency and get additional healthy vitamins and minerals.
Let’s head to Coastee’s Kitchen and see what his recipe calls for.
Ingredients (all preferably organic if possible):
½ cup of old fashioned rolled oats
1 Banana (Coastee prefers Dole®)
1 Cup of Fresh Blueberries
1 Cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk
Optional: 6-12 Eggs, Yolk and All for added protein (Farm Fresh if possible)
1 Teaspoon of Raw Honey (Choose a local source if possible)
½ teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
Got all that? Super, the hard part is done.
Now get your blender out and be sure to observe all good safety practices.
1. Add Oats to Blender and blend until powdery (don’t forget to put the cover on your blender)
2. Add the Blueberries and Banana blending until smooth.
3. Pour in Almond Milk, Raw Honey, Eggs (optional) and Cinnamon.
Blend until smooth like a good jazz tune!
4. Find a cool glass, like Coastee’s awesome retro Wonder Woman glass and fill it to the brim some Blue Banana Delight. If friends are over make sure you give them a cool glass too, if not grab a couple of mason jars off the shelf and store the extra for later.
We don’t really count calories here at the Mascot Brigade Clubhouse, but this has about 200 calories per serving.
Add 72g Calories per egg along with 6 grams of protein!
Hope you enjoyed this Culinary Atoll’s Recipe direct from Mascot Coastee’s Kitchen.
See you on the playground Brigadiers!
