Ahoy mates! I am Brigadier General Coastee of the Mascot Brigade and today I present to all you Brigadiers and Pirates of Play a developmental tip that will help you in all your back to the playground adventures, Focus.
Focus, as you most likely have already found out, without focus you will falter in your adventures whether it is a fun filled session at the park on the monkey bars, climbing a tree, catching a baseball or football or dropping into a sweet bowl at the local skate park.
There is no sugar coating it, if you want to develop into being a successful Brigadier in the Mascot Brigade you need to work hard and you need to develop focus. Success, achieving your goals of becoming a champion, and more importantly a leader / role model for your community should be the only motivation & focus you need.
If you are going to be a Mascot Brigade Brigadier, you have to carry yourself as one. Presuming that means you are still in your studies, you will apply yourself to achieve excellence in the classroom. Yes, I know you are rolling your eyes because you have not heard that before but in R-World, where we build champions, you will study, study diligently with a challenging course load, and you will take detailed notes with a pencil and paper. Not everyone can be the star athlete that receives the loving praise for supporters but every athlete can finish their academic studies. Not every athlete can play professional sport but every athlete should leave the field of competition as a man and woman of principles, prepared to lead. That may be a surprise in an era that accommodates foul conduct for an elite athlete but it is about time for positive change. Welcome to the world of being a student-athlete and for that matter, a leader and Brigadier of tomorrow. -Mascot Coastee Focus is our First Mascot Brigade Rule of Conduct (Nine in total)
